If you are in the mood for some excellent housemade pastries, then this is the place for you. They also have a great brunch selection. I love all the options and the open kitchen/bakery; you watch them decorating cakes and other pastries, and I always find their skills fascinating to watch. High recommend a stop here.

I'm an extremely lucky person to live within a block of this wonderful establishment! Everything is top notch and the staff is always friendly! Quality takes time. Do expect a small wait during busy times or when ordering something hot. I don't mind, as it gives me a moment to browse the shop or the art gallery upstairs. :) My personal recommendation is the almond croissant, though you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I cannot say enough about how special this place is to me personally. I came to know about this place through a former student of mine who had a cake from Martine's several years ago. I always remembered the cake(because it was so special!) and finally I had my very own special occasion for a very special friend who turned 70 to throw a surprise birthday party for her. I went to Martine's with such a short notice. I knew I couldn't have a cake completely customized, but the owner lady sat down with me and agreed to make a special cake(with what was readily available) for my dear friend. It was 2 tier cake decorated with sugar roses and baby breath and many more flowers. My friends couldn't believe that they were fake! The cake was tasty and texture was exactly what I would have liked to have. We also had brunch while picking up the cake and the chef generously offered a complimentary small cup of tomato soup for my sweet husband who ordered their kale grilled cheese sandwich. I ordered a waffle BLT which tasted delicious and not heavy at all. We loved their new place(apparently they moved to this location recently) and atmosphere. We would love to return.

I just love having breakfast with my best friend at Martine’s! It is just this cozy french style bakery in downtown Lexington! They have countless delightful options for breakfast and lunch! The pastries are mouthwatering!! I also love the little kitchen gadgets they sell in the store! Give it a chance! It won’t disappoint you!

We had Martine's make an design the cake for our wedding. We customized it with lemon cake with apricot filling. It was absolutely PERFECTTT for our wedding theme and was refreshing for this spring day!!! They were an absolute pleasure to work with and was very patient with all my questions and concerns-- particularly since we did not have a wedding planner and were needing extra hands for getting things figured out. We reserved the cake for just us, bride and groom, but we did have some people sneek a bite.

I enjoyed my entire experience. Went for breakfast and ordered a croissant and a quiche. Excellent black coffee too. It was quiet sitting on the second floor. Everything looked appetizing.

. Martine's Pastries is an amazing gem of a French cafe and bakery. . I love their delicious chicken salad sandwich, served on a tender buttery croissant. They also have a great 'Croque Monsieur' sandwich- a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a delicious sauce. . They have amazing baked goods and coffee & tea drinks. . Martine also makes beautifully decorated custom cakes for special occasions. . This is a small cafe. There is limited seating downstairs, but there is also a larger seating area upstairs. . Everything is delicious ! Highly recommend.

We ordered a champagne strawberry cake for my daughter’s birthday, and this year we had to refrigerate it a few days before we could celebrate, and this cake was still moist with so much flavor. Also, I never like icing and loved this icing. I can’t say enough good things about this cake.

I’ve been a fan of Martine’s Pastries for ages, but I’ve never been inside their bakery until today. And let me tell you, it was a total treat! There were so many delicious pastries to choose from, I couldn’t decide what to get. I ended up grabbing three for myself and my friend got two. Everything tasted amazing! My friend got a chai latte, but it wasn’t my favorite flavor.

Generally speaking, Martine's is an adorable bakery with so many delicious items. My husband and I chose to have our wedding cake made by this bakery. Chelsea, the cake designer, is very sweet, helpful and patient. Our cake tasting visit was fun and it was a treat to be tasting various flavors of their cakes. We purchased a 3-tier and the 2 flavors were the chocolate with chocolate filling + yellow cake with raspberry filling; buttercream icing. These were delicious but so were many other flavor options including the lemon blueberry. Cake stand rented from them. The finished product was exactly what we wanted and we loved it. The only "negative" was that the box they sent for the top tier was too small (short) for the box to shut all the way with the cake in it, but this wasn't a big deal and we made it work! We ended up going ahead and eating the top tier so that we have an excuse to order cake again from them for our 1 year anniversary :) Strongly recommend this bakery for their wedding cakes (and other goodies).
